Calgary First Aid offers a number of different training courses at the lowest prices. St Mark James certificates for first aid, CPR, and AED training are awarded to trainees who are able to complete a course and are valid for three years throughout Canada. Renewal of expired and near-expiry certificates are offered through Calgary First Aid’s refresher courses, held at least twice a week. For trainees who decided to drop out of a training course may receive full refund, as long as they give a 72-hour notice.

CPR Training Courses

Trainees are introduced to the Basic Life Support (BLS) guidelines made by the American Heart Association to guide rescuers providing emergency management to victims of cardiac arrest. The most recent 2020 guidelines highlight several updates in techniques and pathways in CPR and AED. Studies have shown that immediate chest compressions after a person has collapsed, as opposed to the old “Look, Listen, Feel” technique, raises the chances of survival of the victim. Stand-alone classes are available for trainees who do not want to undergo the complete training course. Basic first aid or CPR and AED training only classes are available for enrolment. Other stand-alone classes are also focused on safety and hazard management,  such a food safety, fire hazard management, and pet first aid classes to name a few. Private classes are usually offered to companies or big groups to request a separate class and schedule for their training. Refresher courses are available for trainees who need to renew expiring certifications.
